Support SOLS

SOLS exists so that the people of Ontario, as represented by the Minister with jurisdiction for public libraries, will have equitable access to library services at a sustainable cost. Details on SOLS’ services may be found in our Annual Report. For a quick overview, please refer to A Brief Listing of SOLS Services.

SOLS is fortunate in its relationship with Ontario’s Ministry of Culture. We rely on the Ministry to finance our core services to public libraries. However, SOLS is also a registered charity (business number 10779 8167 RR0001) and adheres to the Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code. SOLS also adheres to the Association of Professional Fundraisers’ Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice by employing a certified fundraising professional.

It is through donations like yours that we will be able to enhance SOLS’ programs. In 2005, SOLS’ Board introduced the Innovation Fund and donors may direct donations to that fund or SOLS’ greatest need. We are very grateful to our donors and the support that they provide. If you would like to support our work, you will find more details at Ways to Support SOLS.

SOLS is also administering Club Amick, the fourth phase of the Lieutenant-Governor’s literacy initiative for young aboriginal readers in fly-in communities in northern Ontario. Donations may be made online or by using our donor form. For more information on this project, please contact Daryl Novak, who can be reached at 1-800-387-5765 x5135 or by email

We sincerely appreciate your interest and support.
