Welcome Kit - A good starting
point for all libraries and branches who want to learn more about how to
promote OverDrive to their clients. The kit is comprised of the
following three items:
- a welcome letter from Shannon Lichty, our Partner Services
representative, giving an overview on
how to get started with OverDrive promotion
- Promotional
poster (to hang over a workstation)
- Best Practices
Handbook - a guide for member libraries on how to maximize
download circulation
Once you have reviewed the welcome kit, we have a wide selection of
other promotional items, both ready to print and editable (i.e. where
you can add you library name and logo

templates for press releases, and the Best Practices Handbook.
- Visit OverDrive's
training
site to view PowerPoint slides of the session on
Community Outreach. This session
focuses on creative techniques for introducing new patrons to your
OverDrive download library, and promotional ideas from high circulating
libraries

library staff and patrons. Lists devices and
computers that are currently compatible with your library's
eBooks.

Device / eBook Reader “How-to” Guide
- A downloadable PDF (front and back) with detailed
instructions on how to download titles to a mobile device
and transfer eBooks to an eBook reader. This file can be
printed and distributed
as needed.

Web Site Graphic - To download and use this graphic:
- Right click on the graphic, choose "save
image as" (or "save picture as") then download to your desktop.
- Once you have saved the image, upload it to wherever you
normally store images on your website. Insert this image
on whatever page you like (home page, database page, etc.).
- Once placed on your website, right click on the image and under
Hyperlink Properties (or the equivalent), add the URL for the
site - http://downloadcentre.library.on.ca. From this point
on your will be able to click on the graphic to go to the
OverDrive website.
