Notes biographiques  - Louise Godbout-Legault

Louise Godbout-Legault travaille pour le Service des bibliothèques de l’Ontario-Sud depuis 1989. Elle fut d’abord engagée au SBOS comme coordonnatrice des services en français.

En 1993, elle assuma le poste de traductrice pour le SBOS. En tant que traductrice du SBOS, elle est responsable de la traduction et de l’adaptation en français des 18 cours EXCEL et de la traduction de plusieurs autres documents soit administratifs soit reliés aux services consultatifs du SBOS.

En 2006, Louise accepta de nouveau d’assumer le poste de coordonnatrice des services en français pour le SBOS. Ce poste réunit maintenant tous les services en français offerts par le SBOS, de la traduction aux services consultatifs incluant les services de formation et de perfectionnement (ateliers et mini-ateliers) et les services entourant l’organisation des différentes réunions de comités des services en français ainsi que les visites de prévérification des bibliothèques en vue de l’obtention de leur l’agrément.

Louise détient son Diploma of Library Studies de l’Université Concordia, un BA de l’Université d’Ottawa, un Certificat de formateurs d’adultes en milieu scolaire de l’Université du Québec à Montréal et plusieurs cours en administration de l’Université du Québec à Montréal et de l’Ontario Management Institute.

Avant de venir travailler pour le SBOS, Louise avait auparavant travaillé à la section pour enfants de la succursale Rideau de la Bibliothèque publique d’Ottawa, à la Polyvalente Arthur-Pigeon de Huntingdon, à la Corporation municipale de Melocheville (archiviste) et à la Bibliothèque municipale de Ville-Mercier.

Louise has worked for the Southern Ontario Library Service since 1989. She was first hired as French Services Coordinator.

In 1993, she took the job of Corporate Translator for SOLS. As Corporate translator, she not only has the responsibility of translating SOLS corporate documents, but also translating and adapting the 18 EXCEL courses in French, plus numerous other documents pertaining to library development and consulting services. During her numerous years as translator, she also had to translate documents developed by related organizations, such as the discussion paper prepared by the Core Management Team of the Strategic Directions Council of the Ontario Ministry of Culture Building Value Together: A Vision for Change for Ontario Public Libraries.

In 2006, Louise again assumed the duties of Coordinator of French Language Services for SOLS. This position has been restructured and now combines all of SOLS French Services, translation, consulting, training and development (workshops and clinics), organization of networking meetings for the Comité de services en français, plus the pre-audit visits to libraries who wish to obtain their accreditation. Louise’s responsibility is not limited to working with the Francophone libraries of Prescott-Russell, but also with the English libraries serving Francophones and immersion clientele across Southern Ontario.

Louise holds a Diploma of Library Studies from Concordia University, a B.A. from Ottawa University, an Adult Education Certificate from the Université du Québec à Montréal, and numerous other courses in administration from the Université du Québec à Montréal and the Ontario Management Institute.

Before coming to work for SOLS, Louise previously worked at the Rideau Branch of the Ottawa Public Library, at the Polyvalente Arthur-Pigeon of Huntingdon, at the Corporation municipale de Melocheville (as archivist) and at the Bibliothèque municipale de Ville-Mercier.
