Biography - Peggy Malcolm, MLSPeggy Malcolm has worked for the Southern Ontario Library Service since 1991. She was originally hired to write EXCEL courses and to write the Sourcebook for Small Public Libraries publications. She continues to write the EXCEL courses, but has taken on the additional responsibility of providing general consulting to libraries in the Hastings, Northumberland, Prince Edward, Addington Highlands and Peterborough areas. Since 2000, Peggy has managed the TD Summer Reading program for SOLS, and for a time, she was also responsible for the SOLS-administered “Pools”. She received a BA (Hons) from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, an MLS from the University of Western Ontario in London, and a Certificate in Human Resources from Ryerson. She has worked in several public libraries including the Pickering Public Library, where she was the Assistant Chief Librarian and Adult Services Branch Head, and at the Ajax Public Library, where she was Project Manager for their first automation project completed in partnership with the Whitby Public Library. She also worked at the Whitby Psychiatric Hospital Library, and spent two years working at a United Nations Library in Bogor, Indonesia and is a volunteer member of the Red Maple Selection Committee for 2006.
