FeesSOLS does not charge a fee for providing Orientation and Overview sessions for collection development, funding development, planning, or technology planning. There is a fee for further assistance that is customized to a specific library. Typically, the consultant is working with existing material that is customized and then delivered on-site in full or half day sessions. The contract fee is $300 per half day/$600 per day, plus one hour per half day (charged at $85 per hour) to cover the cost of customization. In rare cases, actual implementation of a project may be available where SOLS has particular expertise, staff with surplus time, and where it wishes to augment its self-generated revenue. Project Implementation is defined as when the consultant is actually doing the work for the library (e.g., conducting focus groups, doing actual space planning, report writing, etc.).
