Of those who do earn vacation days, the average number of days earned per year is 18.49.
Several respondents indicated that the number of days of vacation is not a set amount but
varies according to length of service. Where a range was given, the
average number of days was used.
Three libraries reporting no benefits plan or vacation days were
contacted for follow-up questions. All three indicated that they give 4%
of salary in lieu of paid vacation and that this 4% is in addition to
the salary quoted in the survey.
