E14-Non-book materials

ASSIGNMENT 1

Submit this assignment to your tutor by the date specified on the schedule accompanying this course.

Your assignment for Module 1 is to prepare a report for your supervisor on non-book materials in your library. If you are the only person in your library, address the report to the Library Board or Band Council.

Your report should contain:

  1. a description of your current book and non-book collection. If you do not have non-book material in your collection at the present time, this should be stated.

  2. an explanation of why you would collect non-book materials. If you already have non-book materials, why did you add non-book materials to your collection? Benefits? Problems?

  3. a description of the type of non-book material (i.e. DVD, music CDs, etc.) you would like to add to the collection. If you already have one type of non-book material, what else would you like to add. Justify your choice but don’t worry about cost yet.

Your report should be 1 - 2 pages in length. Be sure to put your name on each page.
