ASSIGNMENT 6

Submit this assignment to your tutor by the date given on the schedule accompanying this course.

Librarians have integrated digital resources and services within their existing "real" ones, making many tough resource allocation decisions. Libraries now encompass physical spaces, collections, and services provided in person, as well as virtual spaces, collections, and services.

One can get digital resources from a number of sources, but libraries help to select, organize and preserve collections with the services to make them usable. Libraries make these virtual bookshelves available.

Your assignment is to promote your collection of electronic resources. There are two parts to this assignment.

Part 1 - Make a list of at least 10 ways that you might be able to promote the collection. For example, one idea is to add a sign to your library hours placard that says: "Even when we're closed, our eBooks are still available through our Web site at www.library.on.ca  ."

Part 2 - Create a one page promotion which could be used as a newspaper insert or handed out as a promotional flyer. The promotion should include information about the service and reference to your website.
