ASSIGNMENT 2

Your assignment for this module is to work on two problems:

Problem 1

Consider the following situation. Write a one page description outlining your solution to this potential public relations disaster.

This is one of your busiest days. There is long line of people wanting to check out their books. You have just processed the books of a couple standing in front of you, and now they want to tell you how pleased they are you have so many publications on home renovations, all about their new house, how the kitchen looks out onto a lovely patio, the flowers they plan to put in, where the picnic table will go, etc. In the meantime, the people behind are starting to get impatient.

In your solution, consider how you might tactfully move these patrons on?

Problem 2

Your library board has received a complaint that ‘nothing ever happens in the library’ and that ‘nobody uses the library’. To respond to this complaint, the library board has asked you for a report describing the activities of the library during the past month.

Write a one page summary of the activities, including such information as total circulation, and describing any special programmes or events held in the library.
