ASSIGNMENT 5

In answering this question on the assignment, you will write an assessment of two of the magazines mentioned on pages 6 to 8 of this module (e.g. Sports Illustrated, Hot Rod, YM, Seventeen). The assessment should be written as if it was going to a special selection committee who are reviewing your young adult material.

If you can find a copy, read it. If not, then look at the information posted on the web site for the magazine, then consider the following questions:

• What is the primary focus of the magazine? (e.g. health, fitness, lifestyles)
• What do you think is the target audience for this magazine?
• What is the subscription cost? What is the cost of a single issue?
• How many issues are produced in one year?
• In what country is the magazine produced?
• Would you put this magazine in your library? Why or why not?

And finally, be sure to comment on why you would or would not purchase the print version or just use the online version.

Your written report should address these questions and should be about 2 pages in length.
