Networking Resources for library staff

This section includes links to discussion lists and blogs that librarians can use to stay informed and share their ideas with others on current issues, as well as a brief listing of conferences relevant to library staff.

SOLS provides opportunities for staff and trustees to make contact with each other and share problem-solving and advice. This is done electronically through a variety of Electronic Discussion Lists housed on SOLS website (almost 50), and physically through networking opportunities, such Trustee Councils, Library Committees and First Nations Gathering

SOLS Electronic Discussion Groups page describes how discussion groups work, and gives practical advice on how to participate in a discussion group.  To sign up for a specific group, please see our complete list of discussion groups.

OLS - North also hosts discussion lists for Library CEO’s, and Library Advisory Committees. Networking opportunities are provided through regional and First Nation LAC meetings, conferences and area workshops. Beginning in September 2005, on-line topical chats will be scheduled.
