We examine all these sites regularly and include only what is
generally wholesome and educational for most children. Because Internet sites
are always changing and standards vary from individual to individual, the

Families Connect: An Introduction to the Internet: A website created
for parents and children to use together. It offers families (parents, kids,
grandfathers, aunts, cousins - everyone) an opportunity to learn about the
Internet and use it together.
Incorporating Touch in Early Childhood Settings (.pdf) Frances M. Carlson,
Concordia University. St Paul, Minnesota, 2002. This paper talks about the value
of touch and how touch can help protect children and their caregivers from abuse
and abuse allegations. It includes a Practitioner’s Guide book. A book on the
same topic has been published through NAEYC and will be available through their
website the beginning of September. The title is "Essential Touch: Meeting the
Needs of Young Children." It is item # 799 and can be purchased at
www.naeyc.org.

Children's Literature and Books. This is a web site designed for children
ages birth through twelve, their parents, teachers or anyone interested in
reading about children's books. Providing reader's advisory service, this
site contains hundreds of recommended book reviews in a variety of reading
levels and interest areas. Parents may find special "parental notes"
attached to some reviews that provide additional information about the book.
Users can search for books by author, title, reading level, interest area,
number of pages, and even favourite illustrator.
