First Nations Public Library Week is a multi-level, multi-purpose program that encourages all Ontario libraries to join in its celebration. In First Nation communities, this Week is an opportunity to promote public library services and celebrate cultural uniqueness through creative library programming. In non-native communities, the Week is an opportunity to increase awareness of First Nation peoples through training, programming and displays. Session participants have an opportunity to meet with First Nation public librarians who will share their celebration ideas. Sylvia Olsen and Ron Martin, authors of the 2009 First Nation Communities Read title, Which Way Should I Go?, will also participate in the session.  First Nations Public Library Week 2009 takes place February 9-14.
