Connectivity Funding
For the last eight years, the Ministry of Culture
has supported public library connectivity through its Internet and
telecommunication connectivity project administered by SOLS. For
2008/09, the Ministry has invested another $660,000 towards this
initiative to help support public libraries’ connectivity costs. While
$660,000 will not pay for all public libraries’ Internet connectivity,
it will allow libraries currently benefiting from this fund to maintain
their access and allow more libraries to participate if they meet

To be deemed eligible, public libraries must:
- Currently provide public Internet access.
- Be public libraries or First Nations libraries established under
the Public Libraries Act.
