Instructions for the use of the
Inter-branch Delivery Form
SOLS offers competitively priced delivery services for library
systems to move material between their branches. This service is
offered when there is excess capacity on our vehicles and the drivers
have time available to make the delivery. SOLS requires libraries to
commit to this service for one year.
The actual charges for Inter-branch delivery service are based on a
price per stop (including the first bin) plus a price per each
additional bin picked up. Invoices are sent out either monthly or
quarterly based on the terms of the Letter of Agreement. Please note
libraries may be required to provide their own bins with lids for
Inter-branch delivery. The pricing will be determined based on a number
of factors, such as:
- Additional kilometres required to provide the service.
- Additional time required to service the branches.
- Number of stops a library requests for pick-up.
- Number of bins picked up at each stop.
Pricing will generally be about $13.00 per stop (including the
first bin) plus $1.20 per each additional bin picked up.
Example
A library requests one stop per week at the main branch (50 stops
per year) and one stop per week at another branch (50 stops per year).
It is estimated that 396 boxes would be moved between the two locations.
This library would pay $1,649.28 for SOLS to provide Inter-branch
delivery for one year. That is:
100 Inter-branch stops X $13.00 per stop, $1,300.00
plus 296 additional boxes moved (396 boxes less 100 stops included in
the price per stop) X $1.20, $349.28
= $1,649.28 for one year of inter-branch service.
