Libraries 2025 Symposium

Coming up on April 30th will be a rare opportunity for the public library community to come together. On that day, at the Fairmount Royal York, we’ll focus on the future of Libraries in 2025. Leanne Clendening (OLS-North), Shelagh Paterson (OLA), Jefferson Gilbert (CULC), Stephen Abram (FOPL) and I (SOLS) have been planning this event since last fall.

We’re really excited to have Valerie Pringle, co-anchor of CTV’s Canada AM morning show, as our moderator for the day. She will guide us through a number topics that we believe are of great relevance to librarians in Ontario.  In fact, we consulted with representatives from libraries across the province back in November and the issues they raised are those we’ll be tackling: community based design, the need for continuous improvement and innovation, proving our stories, and staff evolution.

So don’t forget to register and prepare yourself for what David Lankes would call, a “radical shift”!
