Anne Marie Madziak is the Service Development Director at Southern Ontario Library Service, where she oversees training, consulting services and professional resources. Anne Marie also coordinates SOLS’ leadership program, the APLL Institute. A key feature of the program is a strong focus on peer learning and the benefits of going through the program as a cohort, a community of learners who take collective responsibility for learning together and from one another. Anne Marie facilitates the individual and collective learning and leadership development of APLL participants. With over 30 years experience in public libraries, Anne Marie has a breadth and depth of knowledge about most aspects of public library governance and operations. In her work as a director, trainer, facilitator, writer, presenter and coach, Anne Marie uses honest conversation and collective problem solving to grow understanding, empathy and inclusivity, leading to wise action.

Anne Marie Madziak is a library development consultant with Southern Ontario Library Service. In her work with public libraries, she has trained both staff and trustees on a wide range of topics, assisted with board development, facilitated planning sessions and guided libraries through a variety of service reviews. She authored the SOLS publication, Creating the Future You've Imagined: A Guide to Essential Planning.

Anne Marie also coordinates the APLL Institute, a leadership development program of the Southern Ontario Library Service. Aimed at public library staff with leadership aspirations, the APLL Institute combines the flexibility of online learning with highly interactive classroom sessions. A key feature of the program is a strong focus on peer learning and the benefits of going through the program as a cohort, a community of learners who take collective responsibility for learning together and from one another. Anne Marie facilitates the individual and collective learning and leadership development of APLL participants.
