Description:

The PRDH (Le Programme de recherche en d'eacute;mographie historique) is a repository of ALL vital events (baptisms, marriages and burials) celebrated by the Catholic church in Quebec and French Canada from 1621 to 1849. The PRDH database contains close to 2 400 000 records. What makes the PRDH unique is how these records are connected to one another through genealogical links, which we refer to as Family Reconstructions. Family Reconstructions can be described as the process of creating a massive family tree containing all the individuals who have lived in a set location over a set period. In the PRDH’s case, the location is the province of Quebec and the period is 1621 to 1849.
